If 'A’ denotes '/’, 'B’ denotes ‘X‘, 'C’ denotes ‘+‘; and ‘D’ denotes ‘-‘; then 52 C 24 A 3 D 7 B 6 is equal to :

a) 18 b) 110 c) 318 d) -114

**Answer : **a) 18

Solution :

Given expression is 52 C 24 A 3 D 7 B 6

Replacing the alphabets by corresponding operators, we have

52 + 24 / 3 - 7 X 6

By applying the BODMAS rule, we would have,

52 + (24/3) - 7 x 6

52 + 8 - (7x6)

Given expression is 54 S 9 R 3 Q 3 P 12 R 2

Replacing the alphabets by corresponding operators, we have

54 / 9 x 3 - 3 + 12 X 2

By applying the BODMAS rule, we would have,

(54/9) x 3 - 3 + 12 X 2

(6x3) - 3 + (12 X 2)

Given expression is (9/17) ? (14/17) (28/51) # 3 $ (4/17)

Replacing the symbols by corresponding operators, we have

(9/17) + (14/17) / (28/51) - 3 X (4/17)

By applying the BODMAS rule :

(9/17) + [(14/17) / (28/51)] - [3 X (4/17)]

(9/17) + [(14/17) x (51/28)] - [3 X (4/17)]

(9/17) + (3/2) - (12/17)

(3/2) - (3/17) = (51-6)/34 = 45/34.

Hence the required answer is option d.

Replacing the symbols by corresponding operators, we have

(12% of 700) - (4% of 700) / 4 + (15% of 200) X 6

(12% of 700) - (4% of 700) / 4 + (15% of 200) X 6

84 - (28/4) + (30x6)

84 - 7 + 180 = 257
